She graduated with a BA in Art History from Winthrop University and an MAT in Art Education from the University of South Carolina. “Through my work I experiment with color, composition, while allowing the materials to move across the surface with gentle guidance. I often create collections of work that focus on playing with balance, color, texture, and shapes within the compositions to not waste materials. Once an art teacher always an art teacher! This provides me with an opportunity to produce work in playful, experimental, energetic bursts. I enjoy creating abstract works of art inspired by poetry, nostalgia and play. If I am playing with the materials, with wonder and awe, the work begins to shape itself. Creating art with these habits in mind helps me to be present in my body, in the moment, and be a conduit for deep expression.”
